Hospice is a concept of care, a service provided to the client and family. Hospice exists to affirm and improve the quality of life for persons in the last stages of an incurable disease. Hospice is a way of caring for and comforting the dying person and their family so the person might live each day to the fullest.

The hospice focus is on comfort care rather than a cure. Pain and symptom management are top priorities while caring for the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of the client and family.
